FIG asked its members to address personal experiences with sexism, backlash, physical and verbal abuse, discrimination, and rape in whatever medium and genre they felt comfortable. Over twenty FIG artists and eight invited artists will participate in the exhibition harkening back to the feminist resistance art movement of the 1960's. 

An activist quilt featuring 40 blocks from all over the United States, The Healing Quilt, will be on display. There will also be a quilt featuring blocks by victims of sex trafficking, supported by STARS, a program for young women involved with commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking.

Allied Craftsmen 2017: Material Obsessions / A Group Show

The Allied Craftsmen of San Diego celebrates its 70th year with a juried exhibition of members’ work at Sparks Gallery in downtown San Diego. The exhibition, Allied Craftsmen: Material Obsessions, will showcase innovative processes and high standards of workmanship in ceramics, enamel, fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, metals, mixed media, and wood.
